Are T-Shirt Launchers Safe?
T-Shirt launchers are very safe when used as instructed, however they are powerful and have the potential to cause injury if misused. We offer training for your team or a fully operator fired service to ensure that your audience enjoy the launchers in a fun and safe environment.
How far can I fire a T-Shirt?
The Bleacher Reacher Pro will fire a T-shirt up to 100m, but typically, we usually only fire to around 25m using the MicroMini.
It is important to remember that you must have the attention of the audience you are firing into so they are ready to catch the merchandise.
This is easy from a stage as everyone can see you. If you are firing from ground level, reduce the range and engage the crowd around you.
How do I roll a T-Shirt?
- Open your T-Shirt out and fold it in half, lengthways.
- Fold in the arms.
- Fold in half again, lengthways.
- Start to roll from the neck, tensioning the roll by pulling on the open length of material.
- Once rolled, secure with at least two strong elastic bands.
To get a T-shirt to fly through the air, you need to spend time and effort rolling your T-shirts tightly and securing them with strong elastic bands (we can supply you with a bag of elastic bands). This will ensure that they hold together in flight and don’t open up and flutter down a few meters from your feet!
Can I use a T-shirt Cannon indoors?
Yes. Indoor arenas and concert venues that have high ceilings are perfectly ok, but still remember to test and range the cannons to suit the venue.
Where you have a lower ceiling, don’t secure the rolled T-shirts with elastic bands. Roll them in the same way but load them into the barrel without elastic bands and they will open up in flight and flutter down into the audience.
Where can I get CO2 to power the T-shirt cannons?
We will send you everything you need to use the cannons at your event, including the gas. Due to carriage regulations, we have to send the cylinders by a special courier. This does cost more than a standard courier, but it will save you a lot of time and effort, not having to get your own gas cylinders.
If you prefer, you can collect the equipment and gas from us and receive free training at the same time. If we are providing crew, we will bring all the gas you need.
How many shots will I get from one CO2 bottle?
This depends on how far you are firing the T-Shirts. The further you fire, the more pressure you need and the fewer shots you will get from one fill. On an average setting, one CO2 bottle will fire 70 shots on a MicroMini and 40 shots on a Bleacher Reacher Pro. You then simply unscrew the empty cylinder and replace with a full one and you’re ready to go again.
What can I fire from a T-shirt cannon, other than T-shirts?
Pretty much anything soft that will fit down the barrel. If you have an idea, tell us about it and we’ll give it a go and let you know if it works.
We have fired stress balls, soft toys, flags, pants, bandannas, confetti petals, beanie hats, caps, scarves and sweets. We have also developed a unique method of dropping items into a crowd by parachute! Give us a call to find out more!
Do I need a risk assessment?
If you are using the T-shirt cannon at a public event, you will need to complete a risk assessment. We can supply you with a template and advice on how to complete it.
