F1 follow NFL with T-shirt cannons at a sunny Spanish Grand Prix.
With the acquisition of Formula 1 by US corporate giant, Liberty Media, they have set about introducing new dimensions to the racing experience in the form of a Fan Festival with a pit stop challenge, racing simulators, 200m zip line and live performances from DJs.
As part of this, Formula One Management approached Confetti Magic to provide T-shirt cannons to shoot merchandise into the crowds at the Spanish Grand Prix.
Twenty T-shirt launchers were required along with crew to provide technical support and on-site training for the grid girls who would be firing the launchers.
As well as the post-qualifying and pre-race drivers’ parades, the grid girls took to the circuit to entertain the crowds with flash mob activations into specific stands.
Not able to resist the temptation to have a go, Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz, under the watchful eye of our crew, fired shots into their home stands, treating a few lucky spectators to one of only 700 exclusive printed T-shirts.
